1968 Alfa Romeo T33/2 'Daytona'
In 1968, Autodelta developed an evolution version of the T33 - the T33/2. The updated car featured engine and suspension improvements plus new bodywork, in coupé, long-tailed Le Mans and spider variants.
The car evolved continually throughout 1968, featuring side mounted radiators, roof blisters for taller drivers, removable roof panels, different mirrors and numerous minor detail changes.
The car shown is as it appeared in its first outing - the '68 24 hours of Daytona. The car won the 2 litre prototype class, finishing in 4th place overall, behind the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed, larger engined Porsche 907s. Sister T/33/2 cars finished 5th and 6th. To commemorate the first-time-out class victory, the car became known as the T33/2 'Daytona'
The no. 20 car was driven by Udo Schütz and Nino Vaccarella.
