1970 Alfa Romeo T33/3
For the 1969 season, Autodelta introduced the next major evolution in the Tipo 33 series. The T33/3 featured an all-new chassis, spider bodywork and a 3 litre V8 engine. Now competing in the P3.0 class, the 69 season was not very successful for Alfa Romeo.
By the 1970 Sebring 12 hours race, the 3 litre variant had been developed enough to be much more competitive. Autodelta entered three of the 33/3s in the race, the number 33 car coming home in 3rd place overall, just 1 lap behind the much bigger engined winning Ferrari 512S and second placed Porsche 908/02 driven by Peter Revson and movie star Steve McQueen.
The car shown is the no.33 entry driven by Toine Hezemans and Masten Gregory.
