1971 Alfa Romeo T33/3_Brands Hatch
For the 1971 season, the 3 litre car featured new spider bodywork, similar to the Porsche 908/3s, often without headlights and sporting a short, open tail section.
The '71 car was much more successful, with class wins in the Buenos Aries 1000 Km, Monza, Zeltweg and Spa races and outright wins in the BOAC 1000 Km at Brands Hatch, the Targa Florio and at Watkins Glen. Alfa finished the season in second place in the championship.
The car shown is the no.54 BOAC 1000 Km-winning entry at Brands Hatch, driven by Andrea de Adamich/Henri Pescarolo. The three litre car miraculously beat the five mighty Porsche 917s and three Ferrari 512Ms by three laps.
